Chevrolet Fleetside Apache Pikup (1958) Azure Motormax 1:24

Non ho una grandissima esperienza con le varie case che producono modelli in scala 1:24, diciamo che ho intenzione di "imparare" strada facendo.

Volevo iniziare con questo modello, i pick up mi sono sempre piaciuti e in questo caso facciamo un bel salto indietro nel tempo fino alla fine degli anni '50.

Il modello è un motor max e mi sembra di capire che assieme a Welly sia uno dei produttori che offre modelli con un ottimo rapporto fra qualità e prezzo.

Iniziamo a smontarlo...

I do not have a lot of experience with the various houses that produce models in 1:24 scale, let's say I'm going to "learn" the way. I wanted to start with this model, the pickups I've always liked, and in this case we make a jump back in time to the late '50s. The model is a motor max and I understand that along with Welly is one of the manufacturers offering models with a good balance between quality and price.

Il colore turchese dona carattere a questo furgone, la carrozzeria è rifinita abbastanza bene e la verniciatura non è da meno. Le plastiche sono di buona fattura, molto carine le gomme mentre il pianale di carico e il motore con i relativi interni risultano un pò poveri, ma troveremo sicuramente il modo di migliorarli.

The turquoise color gives character to this van, the body is pretty well finished and painting is no exception. The plastics are of good quality, very nice tires while the loading platform and engine with its internals are a bit poor, but we will certainly find ways to improve them.

Come dicevo le finiture sono abbastanza dettagliate, sopratuttto considerando che il modello costa meno di 20 Euro, le portiere e il cofano sono apribili mentre purtroppo la ribaltina posteriore non è apribile.

As I said, the finish is quite detailed, sopratuttto Whereas the model costs less than 20 euros, the doors and the hood can be opened while unfortunately the rear flap can not be opened.

Il piano di carico, gli interni, i rivestimenti delle portiere, il cruscotto e il volante necessitano di urgenti interventi mentre i paraurti cromati e le gomme si presentano già in ottima forma. 

Quindi dopo questa breve panoramica direi di iniziare ad intervenire sul cuore del pick up, il motore.
Ovviamente quello originale ha ben poco di realistico, quindi pensavo di rimuovere la porzione di plastica dedicata al motore per ricreare all'interno dello stampo un vano dove collocare un vero motore chevrolet in scala 1:24 che in questo momento stà probabilmente sorvolando l'oceano....

The load floor, interior, door trims, dashboard and steering wheel require urgent intervention while the chrome bumpers and tires you have already in good shape.
So after this brief overview I would say to begin working on the heart of the pick up, the engine.
Of course, the original has very little realistic, so I was thinking of removing the portion of the plastic for motor inside the mold to create a space where to put a real engine chevrolet in 1:24 scale that right now is probably flying over the ocean ....

Non è stato facile, specialmente fino a quando non ho utilizzato il phon per scaldare la plastica, infatti, da quel momento in poi era come tagliare del burro ;)
Ho deciso per adesso di mantenere la batteria e il radiatore che, per altro, sono nella corretta posizione rispetto al Fleetside originale. Quando sarà il momento di montare il motore all'interno del vano vedremo come intervenire e se sarà il caso di sostituire la batteria con una più realistica, tenendo presente che il tutto dovrà essere verniciato rispecchiando il più possibile un vero vano motore.

It was not easy, especially until I used the hair dryer to heat the plastic, in fact, from that moment on it was like cutting butter;)
I decided for now to keep the battery and the radiator which, incidentally, are in the correct position relative to the original Fleetside. When it's time to mount the motor inside the case and we will see how to intervene if it is necessary to replace the battery with a more realistic, bearing in mind that the whole thing will be painted reflecting as much as possible a real engine compartment.

L'inizio...

Finalmente mi sono deciso, si, inizio questa nuova avventura attraverso forse la mia vera e unica passione nel mondo del modellismo, infatti dopo un periodo in gioventù passato a costruire modellini di auto e moto passando attraverso collezioni di auto in scala 1:43 e un tentativo mancato di fermodellismo, ho intenzione di fondere la mia passione per le "vecchie" auto americane con il mondo del modellismo e perchè no, con un pò di "tuning".

Tuning ovviamente non intenso come pacchiane elaborazioni ma come piccole modifiche e aggiustamenti per migliorare con cura e particolari i modelli in commercio.

Non so da cosa derivi questa mia passione per le auto USA, probabilmente la coincidenza della mia infanzia con il boom di "telefilm" americani ha inciso notevolmente e, giusto per citarne alcuni, come non ricordare i Chips che scorrazzavano per le strade di Los Angeles con le loro moto dove immancabilmente accadevano incidenti spettacolari al limite del credibile, oppure hazzard e quella charger da favola, passando per magnum p.i. e tantissimi altri.

Fatto stà che mi piacciono, non posso farci nulla, e come spesso accade per tutte le auto in genere, anche di produzione europea,  trovo molto più affascinanti e dotate di un carattere straordinario le “vecchie” auto rispetto a quelle nuove molto simili fra loro.

Per adesso mi fermo qui, ho tante cose da dire ma non vorrei creare confusione, stay tuned ;)

Ah dimenticavo, giusto per concludere a mio parere l’auto più bella del mondo mai prodotta spetta alla Ferrari, con la 250 GT berlinetta !

Finally I decided , yes, start this new adventure through maybe my one true passion in the world of modeling, in fact after a period in his youth spent building model cars and motorcycles passing through collections of 1:43 scale cars and a failed attempt to model railroad , I'm going to merge my passion for the "old " American cars with the world of modeling and why not, with a bit of " tuning" .Tuning obviously not as intense as gaudy as processing but small changes and adjustments to improve with care and special models on the market .I do not know what derives from my passion for cars USA , probably the coincidence of my childhood with the boom of the American serial have played a significant and , just to name a few, how can we forget the chips that roamed the streets of Los Angeles with their bikes where invariably spectacular accidents happening at the limit of credible , or hazzard with the fabolous charger, passing magnum p.i. and many others.The fact is that I like, I can not help it, and as often happens for all cars in general, also produced in Europe , I find it much more fascinating and extraordinary character with a "old" cars than new ones very similar to each other .For now I'll stop here , I have many things to say but I do not want to create confusion , stay tuned ;)Oh I forgot , just to conclude , in my opinion the most beautiful car in the world ever produced is up to the Ferrari, with the 250 GT Berlinetta !
